Paul Hendrik Barnard
Managing Director
The heartbeat of the firm! Paul graduated in 1993 and obtained his LLM in 2003 in Contracts and IT Law. In 2003 he started the firm and have ever since built the firm based on its vision, mission and Paul's dream. He is specialised in commercial law, a conveyancer and being a FANTASTIC boss. He truly is the heartbeat of PBI.
Anton Botma
Director
Joining PBI in 2024, Anton had a vision... He wanted to be part of something great and do what he loves, BE A LAWYER. Anton graduated in 2016 and was admitted in 2022. Anton then joined the PBI team and became part of that something great. He is specialised in labour law, criminal law and having the BIGGEST heart.
Rachelle van der Merwe
Associate
Rachelle brought the younger energy to PBI when she joined in 2025. She graduated in 2017, obtained her LLM in 2018 and was admitted in 2020. Bringing new thoughts, ideas and modern styles to PBI, she quickly became part of the family. Rachelle specialises in family law, civil litigation and being a GREAT teacher.
Reinart Grobler
Candidate Attorney
January 2026. Candidate Attorney. Being small enough to listen and learn, but being big enough to take on the role. Reinart graduated from NWU in 2025 and commence his articles in 2026. He has a passion for Cyber Law and Criminal Law and is eager to learn from the PBI team. Reinart is also the office handyman and specialises in making the BEST coffee.
Zoé-Lee Botma
Candidate Attorney
Obtaining her LLB in 2025 and starting her articles in 2026, Zoé has a dream of being great. She has a passion for dogs, the law and learning. Zoé is interested in family law and criminal law, but is eager to learn about all the fields of law. She is the smile of the offices and brings BIG joy with her every morning.
